This paper is one of a series analysing the quantitative effects of various factors on the biting rates of Culicoides furens (Poey) and C. barbosai Wirth & Blanton in Jamaica. It is concerned with the relationship between their biting rates and four meteorological variables: wind speed, temperature, illumination and saturation deficit. The methods used and the full data have already been published.
