This preliminary report by Professor R. G. Harrison of the Department of Anatomy, University of Liverpool, and Dr A. B. Abdalla of the Department of Anatomy, University of Cairo, is the first public account to appear in print of the findings of their re-investigation in 1968 of the mummy of Tutankhamun. Our readers will be as fascinated as we have been at this demonstration of the possibility of determining human relationships between people living over three thousand years ago. This should be read in conjunction with the article by Professor Fairman which follows this (pp. 15–18).
