1862 April 29: Inauguration of Cavaillé-Coll organ at Saint-Sulpice by Saint-Saëns, Franck, Bazille, Guilmant, and Schmitt. August 12: Charles-Marie Widor awarded Diplôme de Bachelier ès Lettres.
1863 Late February to July 9: Studies in Brussels with Fétis and Lemmens. May 1: Lefébure-Wély becomes titulaire of Saint-Sulpice. July 28: Widor performs a recital at Saint-Sulpice.
1864 January 9: Participates in inauguration of Cavaillé-Coll organ at Sainte-Perpétue, Nîmes.
1865 May: Performs at Salle Pleyel as pedal-pianist and at Cavaillé-Coll's factory (rue de Vaugirard) as organist. September: Performs at International Exposition of Porto, Portugal.
1866 April 13: Among select group who hears Franck perform for Liszt at Sainte- Clotilde. May 22: Named “Chevalier de l'Ordre du Christ” by Napoléon III in the name of Portuguese King Luís I. July: Accompanies Cavaillé-Coll and Guilmant for his first trip to England.
1867 April: Premieres youthful piano concerto (not extant) in Lyon. Publishes first works, including Six Duos, Op. 3. May: Performs harmonium concerts at Universal Exposition, Paris.
1868 March 6: Participates in inauguration of Cavaillé-Coll organ at Notre-Dame de Paris with Saint-Saëns, Franck, Loret, Durand, Chauvet, Guilmant, and Sergent. March 22: Performs music for organ and piano with Franck at Cavaillé-Coll's new establishment, 13 and 15 avenue du Maine. May 26: Inaugurates Cavaillé-Coll orgue de choeur in Toulouse Cathedral.
1869 March 11: Attends Berlioz's funeral at La Trinité, Paris. March 16: Participates in inauguration of Cavaillé-Coll organ at La Trinité with Saint-Saëns, Franck, Durand, Chauvet, and Fissot. March 25: Premieres Quintet, Op. 7, at Pleyel, Wolff & Co. Early December: Widor and Chauvet inaugurate Cavaillé-Coll organ in Notre-Dame, Épernay. Late December: Substitutes for Saint-Saëns at La Madeleine, Paris. December 31: Lefébure-Wély dies.
