Cambridge and SAGF sign agreement to expand education collaboration in the UAE

Dubai, UAE – 5 November 2025. The Saif Al Ghurair Foundation (SAGF) and Cambridge University Press & Assessment (Cambridge) have signed a new agreement to expand their collaboration. Together, they will explore opportunities that create links across education, innovation and industry in the UAE.

Dubai, UAE – 5 November 2025. The Saif Al Ghurair Foundation (SAGF) and Cambridge University Press & Assessment (Cambridge) have signed a new agreement to expand their collaboration.

Today, SAGF and Cambridge signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together in support of the ‘We are the UAE 2031’ vision for the country’s future. Through the agreement, they seek to help empower learners and educators to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape over the next decade and beyond.

The Saif Al Ghurair Foundation (SAGF) was established to advance innovation through education – by promoting quality teaching and learning, supporting scientific research, nurturing creative thinking, and strengthening partnerships with industry across the UAE.

Today’s agreement reflects a shared commitment by SAGF and Cambridge to advance the effectiveness of the learning, innovation, research and industry ecosystem. It builds on an existing collaboration between the organisations to shape SAGF’s first five-year strategy. The new agreement provides the foundation to introduce a wide range of initiatives to support leaders, schools, communities, universities, scientific research bodies and youth innovation ecosystems.

Under this agreement, SAGF and Cambridge will concentrate on three pillars of activity:

  1. Innovation in research
The organisations will explore collaborations on research, with a focus on innovation that addresses emerging national priorities. As the knowledge and skills required for the future of work continue to evolve, this includes education strategies that align with scientific advancement, industrial development, and the evolving needs of employers.
  2. Education programmes
The two partners will look at where they can design and deliver education programmes together to support national reform efforts across the UAE. One of the most impactful parts of any school system is its educators and, as part of this pillar, SAGF and Cambridge will discuss joint initiatives in teacher professional development.
  3. Knowledge exchange and global dialogue
Both organisations will learn from one another through this agreement. This may include visits to exchange knowledge, insights and best practices. It may also involve joint participation in international forums.

His Excellency Majid Saif Al Ghurair, CEO, SAGF, said:

Our partnership with Cambridge builds on their global track record in education and research excellence, advancing SAGF’s vision to strengthen innovation, scientific inquiry, and workforce readiness in support of the UAE’s national development priorities.

We share the UAE’s ambition for excellence in education to drive a brighter future for all. This collaboration will help build links and translate research into practical solutions for teachers, learners and their communities.
