OA publishing agreement with the NERC Natural Environment Research Council (BAS and BGS)

If you are affiliated with the NERC Natural Environment Research Council (British Antarctic Survey and British Geological Survey), you can publish your article Open Access (OA) - at no cost to you - in gold and hybrid journals. In addition, you can enjoy access to Cambridge University Press journals content.

Full compliance for co-authors and for authors in subscription journals

If your institution has an uncapped agreement with Cambridge University Press, we now guarantee a clear route to full UKRI compliancy, for all research articles, through our latest policy of ‘Green-by-Exception’. It means that research articles are fully compliant, even those in non-OA journals, which can be deposited in institutional repositories without embargo through this new policy.

To be eligible, articles must:

• Have a corresponding author affiliated with NERC Natural Environment Research Council (British Antarctic Survey and British Geological Survey)
• Be original research – eligible article types are research articles, review articles, rapid communications, brief reports and case reports.
• Be accepted for publication in a Cambridge University Press journal covered by the agreement.
• Be accepted for publication from 1 January 2025.
