Special Collection on Perspectives in Integrated Biophysics: how to probe biological processes with complementary multiscale techniques

This special issue will be a collection of perspectives describing how and why different scientists used complementary techniques to address complex molecular questions about how biological systems work. This is an unusual opportunity as we are not only looking for high quality science but also the thinking and perspectives you bring to your work. Our target audience is both the younger scientist who is trying to establish their careers and those of us who are a bit older and recognise that we always need to learn new ways of working.

We hope you will take this opportunity to write an article that emphasizes a biophysics journey towards discovery/resolution. We are seeking articles, ranging from 2 pages upwards, which people will enjoy reading. We suggest you include the biological questions you asked, why you chose the biophysical/computational techniques and methodologies you adopted, and how you integrated different components of the project. The Perspective should put your work in its context and describe progress towards resolution of a challenging issue, including the new science you found along the journey. We anticipate your Perspective may end on a more mysterious and speculative note than is often the case in current scientific publications.

The Editorial Board would like to cordially invite you to contribute a paper to this collection.

QRB Discovery publishes new developments in the field of experimental and computational biophysics. Articles report on significant physical observations of relevance to biological systems, both experimental and theoretical, that may point towards an exciting direction, rather than the presentation of a traditional comprehensive study.
