The January 2005 issue of PS: Political Science andPolitics carried a report compiled by the APSA TaskForce on Graduate Education which provides numerous suggestions topolitical science programs nationwide on preparing graduate studentsfor professional careers, improving mentoring and advising, andrevising financial package/plans to support ABDs in their finalstretch (Beltran et al. 2005). Among those proposals was a sectionspecifically designed to address unique problems internationalstudents, international graduate assistants (IGA), and internationalgraduate student instructors (IGSI) face at U.S. institutions:
