In developing the theme of this meeting, “Political Science andPublic Life: Knowledge, Politics, and Policy,” the program chairshighlight the current and possible contributions of politicalscience research to politics and policy. They note that politicalscientists in all subfields produce analysis and research withimportant implications for the political activities of the publicand policymakers, yet that political scientists infrequently extendinto a dialouge with these audiences about the implications ofpolitical science.
