The civic engagement track participants represented researchinstitutions, four-year liberal arts institutions, and secondaryschools. Although our teaching experiences, pedagogical approaches,and subject matter specialties varied greatly, we embraced thisdiversity as an opportunity to share common concerns about teachingcivic engagement.
