One of the major problems in testing radionuclide transport models with anatural analogue is the potential discrepancy between experimental andmodelling concepts. In the matrix diffusion studies at Palmottu the measuredU-series concentration profiles and mathematical simulations showeddisagreement, suggesting discrepancy in respective concepts of radionuclideattachment on the rock pores. Here, the discrepancy was approached bystudying uranium fixation in more detail within the most loosely-boundfraction.
