Abstract

Several routes to mixed-metal Bi-Ti species have been investigated. Theinertness of bismuth alkoxides Bi(OR)3 (R = Et, iPr) toward theirtitanium analogs could be overcome by controlled microhydrolysis of Bialkoxides. The first mixed-metal species based on bismuth, BiTi2O(OiPr)9, has thus been isolated andstructurally characterized.

Coatings of Bi4Ti3O12 have been depositedon silicon wafers by using the gels derived from Ti and Bi2-methoxyethoxides solutions.
