Caloplaca britannica R. Sant. sp. nov. and C. ceracea Laundon sp. nov. are described, the latter having been erroneously called C. caesiorufa by British authors. Both grow on maritime rocks, but C. ceracea also occurs inland where it is rare. The value of the colour test with C (bleach) in Caloplaca is mentioned.
