Abstract

Responding to the triumph of the right during the 1980s, Eley and Nieldconclude that traditional concepts of class are no longer workable and need amajor overhauling. Unfortunately, they mischaracterize the literature, offerlittle that could refine the debates, and ignore the important role ofcapitalism in the last two decades.
