The impact of political, economic and social changes upon crime and its image in public (Poland, September 12-16, 1995)

The 51st international course of criminology held in Warsaw in September 1995, dealt with the impact of the political, economic and social changes on crime and its public image. The author analyzes the meeting’s contribution in four areas: 1. the evolution of crime in central and eastern Europe at a time of rapid systemic changes; 2. the dawning of new forms of delinquency during the transition from a socialist economy to a market economy; 3. the feeling of insecurity in post-communist societies; 4. terrorism in Europe. Some aspects of the course also dealt with possible solutions to these new problems.
Le 51e Cours international de criminologie, qui s’est tenu à Varsovie en septembre 1995, portait sur l’impact des changements politiques, économiques et sociaux sur le crime et son image au sein du public. L’auteur analyse les rapports de cette rencontre sur quatre points: 1. l’évolution de la délinquance en Europe centrale et orientale en temps de rapides transformations systémiques; 2. les nouvelles formes de délinquance apparues au cours de la transition d’une économie socialiste à une économie de marché; 3. le sentiment d’insécurité dans les sociétés post-communistes; 4. le terrorisme en Europe. Certains aspects du Cours concernaient également les solutions à adopter face aux problèmes nouveaux.
El quicuagésimo primer Curso internacional de criminología, realizado en Varsovia en septiembre de 1995, trató del impacto de los cambios políticos, económicos y sociales sobre el crimen y su imagen en la opinión pública. El autor analiza las contribuciones de este encuentro en relación a cuarto puntos: 1. evolución de la delincuencia en Europa Central y Oriental en momentos de rápidas transformaciones sistémicas; 2, las nuevas formas de delincuencia aparecidas en el curso de la transición de una economía «socialista» a una economía de mercado; 3. el sentimiento de inseguridad en las sociedades post-comunistas; 4. el terrorismo en Europa. Ciertos aspectos del curso trataron igualmente de las soluciones a adoptar frente a estos nuevos problemas.
