This collection of peer-reviewed, open access articles showcases experiences from around the globe of telco-government collaborations, with the aim of learning from the collective COVID-19 experience and to deeply understand how telco mobile big data analytics can help prepare the world for future pandemics. The call for papers was issued in June 2020 and the first set of five articles was published on 28 June 2021 in time for the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress (June 28-30). A further instalment of publications was published in October in time for the UN World Data Forum and the collection was completed in February 2022.
Guest Editors: Richard Benjamins (Telefonica), Jeanine Vos (GSMA) and Stefaan Verhulst (NYU GovLab). Peer reviews have been published alongside the articles. Many thanks to all the authors and reviewers who helped with this effort.
