TOSCA-Cambridge Opera Journal Award

TOSCA-Cambridge Opera Journal Award

The Programme Committee, in collaboration with the editors of Cambridge Opera Journal, is delighted to offer an award for the best paper presented by a junior scholar at the conference.

The TOSC@–Cambridge Opera Journal Award for 2025 was given to two speakers: Joshua Tolulope David for his paper ‘“Pavarotti Resurrects”: The Operatic Voice in Nigeria’ and Emmanuela Wroth for her paper ‘Vittoria Tesi: The Conception of the Black Diva in Italian Opera, 1715–1775’. The award is presented to the best paper by a junior scholar at the conference. The recipients will each present keynote presentations at the next TOSC@ conference in 2027, receive a CUP book voucher, and be offered mentorship to support the submission of a new article to the Cambridge Opera Journal.
