The State-of-the-Art section will publish papers on any relevant topic, with a particular focus on cutting-edge research, new ideas, and responses to current events. It is dedicated to high-quality contributions that fall outside the scope of themed issues but align with our core mission: advancing understanding of the complex interplay between technology and global affairs. It will be edited by the editors-in-chiefs and an invited guest editor.
Pieces are peer-reviewed and timely, and will be published on the website before being collected in an annual issue.
We are especially interested in approaches including:
- Research articles that present surveys of the field and literature, develop new methodologies, put forward cutting-edge theories, or first-of-a-kind case studies, or use specialised expertise to analyse current events
- Research- and interview-based profiles of practitioners, public figures, or international groups and alliances that are playing a role in the evolving relationship between technology and geopolitics. Please contact us in advance to propose potential interview subjects.
- Policy briefs or assessments of new policies and regulations for audiences working in public policy in government or technology companies
- Essays that explore emerging ideas
All articles should be formatted to comply with one the journal's accepted article types, as described here.
