The State-of-the-Art section will publish papers on any relevant topic, with a particular focus on cutting-edge research, new ideas, and responses to current events. It is dedicated to high-quality contributions that fall outside the scope of themed issues but align with our core mission: advancing understanding of the complex interplay between technology and global affairs. It will be edited by the editors-in-chiefs and an invited guest editor.

Pieces are peer-reviewed and timely, and will be published on the website before being collected in an annual issue.

We are especially interested in approaches including:

Research articles that present surveys of the field and literature, develop new methodologies, put forward cutting-edge theories, or first-of-a-kind case studies, or use specialised expertise to analyse current events

Research- and interview-based profiles of practitioners, public figures, or international groups and alliances that are playing a role in the evolving relationship between technology and geopolitics. Please contact us in advance to propose potential interview subjects.
Policy briefs or assessments of new policies and regulations for audiences working in public policy in government or technology companies
